What is this?

Glad you asked! Do You Like Apples is a weekly newsletter and podcast dedicated to recommending and discussing the movies we love. Every Friday, you will get an email with two or more recommendations from us with a little mini-review explaining why we think it’s worth watching. We’ll try to stick to lesser known titles that you may not be totally familiar with. Our goal is to recommend a wide variety of movies, from 1970s crime thrillers to 2000s rom-coms to captivating documentaries.

Who are we?

Billy Rock and Drew Wendt. We’re two cinema-obsessed gents that want to be your guide through the endless and constantly shifting streaming library. Between the two of us, we’ve seen an ungodly number of movies, so we’re putting that to use. No more algorithms recommending a bunch of cooking shows because you watched The Great British Bake Off that one time — we’re two actual humans ready to help curate your watchlist.

There has to be a podcast, right?

You bet there is. Every week we break down all things movies. Expect reviews of new releases, showcases of our favorite directors and actors, movie drafts, rankings, and much more, including special guests! Listen and subscribe on Spotify and Apple Podcasts!

Who is this for?

Really anyone that loves movies and wants to discover more about them. Whether you’re a cinephile with deep knowledge of the French New Wave or a more casual movie-watcher looking for gems to fire up on Netflix, we think you’ll find something of value here.

If you like what we do, please spread the word! Forward one of our emails to a friend or share our newsletter on social. Also, if you like (or don’t like!) any of the movies we recommend, we’d love to hear about it.
